Areva T&D bags orders worth Rs 120 crore from JSPL

Electric equipment maker Areva Transmission and Distribution (T&D) has bagged orders worth around Rs 120 crore from Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL).

These orders are for power transformers and substation for JSPL’s greenfield integrated steel project at Angul, Orissa, which is slated to be India’s largest integrated steel plant.

The power transformers order is for design, manufacturing, supply at site, erection, testing & commissioning of 2×315 MVA, 400/220kV interconnecting transformers and 6×120 MVA, 220/34.5kV power transformers while the substation order is on turnkey basis for design & engineering, supply, erection & commissioning for the substation including detail engineering for civil works related to this substation and will also involve electric equipment makers products like 400/220kV circuit breakers, instrument transformers and automation system with control & relay panels, the company added in its filing with the BSE.

The orders are to be completed by December 2010.
