Axis Bank gains 4.19% on the BSE

Axis Bank has emerged as a top gainer on the BSE Bankex. The scrip is currently trading at Rs 965.50 per share, up 40.30 points or 4.36%.
The stock opened at Rs 927 as compared to its previous close of Rs 925.20. Intraday, the counter touched a high and a low of Rs 970 and Rs 927, respectively.
So far, 7,53,856 shares of the company were traded on the BSE.
The stock touched its 52-week high of Rs 970 on September 30, 2009 and a 52-week low of Rs 278.50 on March 9, 2009.
The stock has gained 4.96% since the past one week and 5.22% since the last one month.
The BSE Bankex was trading at 9,658.65, up 153.72 points or 1.62%. Other major gainers on the index were SBI up 3.97%, SBI up 3.97%, ICICI Bank up 3.80% and Oriental Bank up 3.46% and IDBI Bank up 2.82%.
