Bharti Airtel posts 16% growth in net profit in Q4

Bharti Airtel has announced its audited results for the fourth quarter & year ended March 31, 2009:

The standalone net profit for the quarter stood at Rs 2,074.99 crore against Rs 1,792.30 crore showing an increase of around 16% on YoY basis. The total income stood at Rs 9,049.66 crore against Rs 7,446.82 crore registering a growth of 21.50% on YoY basis.

The standalone net profit for the entire fiscal stood at Rs 7,743.84 crore against Rs 6,244.20 crore showing an increase of 24% on YoY basis. The total income stood at Rs 34,155.03 crore against Rs 25,939.37 crore registering a growth of around 32% on YoY basis.

The Audited Consolidated results as per Indian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (IGAAP) for the quarter  and year ended March 31, 2009 are as follows:

The consolidated net profit for the quarter stood at Rs 2,047.73 crore against Rs 1,898.85 crore showing an increase of around 8% on YoY basis. The total income stood at Rs 10,295.65 crore against Rs 7,929.95 crore registering a growth of 30% on YoY basis.

The consolidated net profit for the entire fiscal stood at Rs 7,858.95 crore against Rs 6,395.38 crore showing an increase of around 23% on YoY basis. The total income stood at Rs 37,504.46 crore against Rs 27,291.85 crore registering a growth of 37% on YoY basis.

The board of directors of the company has approved share split of existing equity shares of Rs 10 each  each into 2  equity shares of Rs 5  each, subject to the approval of its shareholders.
