The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) clarified on Monday that despite a surge in non-tax revenue from radio spectrum auctions, it would be difficult to cut the planned government borrowings in the first half of the current fiscal, the calendar for which has already been released by the central bank.
BWA auction sees strong start, price surges 34%

The wireless broadband access (BWA) spectrum auction kick-started on Monday with all the qualified players bidding for the 2 slots across all the telecom circles in the country. On the first day itself, the price for a pan-India spectrum rose by as much as 34.5% above the base price of Rs. 1750 crore, to close at Rs. 2354.53 crores.

Tata Power Company has posted a net profit of Rs 947.65 crore for FY10 as compared to Rs 967.50 crore for FY09, down 2.05%. Total income for the fiscal slipped by 6.21% to Rs 7,379.85 crore from Rs 7,868.58 crore for the year ago period.
