Cipla gears up to meet increased demand for Tamiflu

Indian drug manufacturer Cpila has stocked up its antidote Tamiflu to meet any emergency demand for the drug in wake of the swine flu epidemic.
Swiss drug maker F Hoffmann–La Roche makes the oseltamivir anti-viral medicine under the trade name Tamiflu. Cpila markets the drug in India.
The company said that it can supply about 1.5 million doses in four-six weeks and assured that the availability will not be a problem.
Swine influenza is a respiratory disease found in pigs and can be contracted by humans.
The flu has so far claimed over 100 lives and sickened more than 1,600 others. New cases have also been reported from countries like the US, New Zealand Hong Kong and Spain.
