April 15, 2009 by admin
DCW has commenced sale of its surplus power from the company’s 2 x 25 MW coal-based captive power generation plant situated at Sahupuram in Tamil Nadu to Tamil Nadu Electricity Board.
The supply commenced on April 9, 2009 and the agreement is for supply of power till May 31, 2009 for the time being.
On account of power shortage situation in Tamil Nadu and most parts of India, the company expects to benefit from its surplus power position. Going forward, the thermal power plant will facilitate efficient energy cost management.
