Edserv becomes new owner of 2tion.com

Chennai-based Edserv Softsystems has acquired 100% stake in an online tuition portal, 2tion.com.
In its filing with the BSE the company mentioned that it would acquire the entire portal business of 2tion.com along with latter’s several hundreds of tutors / teachers.
This acquisition will provide the company with a direct access to over 50,000 students of the 2tion.com.
Apart from this, it will also help Edserv jumpstart its school expansion plans, wherein the company is targeting to open 50 schools over the next 6 months.
Earlier this month, Edserv announced its plan to enter the school segment with an investment of Rs 20 crore in the next six months time.
The company is expected to generate revenues from this deal from the next quarter.
Edserv plans to make available this online tuition services for the college students by connecting to their choice of lectures through the improved Edclass in 2tion.com for an affordable additional fee.
Chennai headquartered 2tion.com is an online portal company connecting students directly with tutors for expert lectures, doubt clearing sessions and exam preparation using audio and video chat tools.
It also provides online teaching services both in a ‘One-to-one’ format as well as ‘one-to-many students’ format.
In addition to the big domestic student base, 2tion.com has students from the US, UK, Africa, Middle East and South East Asia availing its online tuition services.
