Educomp Solutions to set up affordable schools in India

Educomp Solutions has announced its plans to set up budget schools christened Vidya Prabhat schools in small towns and rural areas across different locations in India.
Initially the company plans to set up five such schools by July 2009 and later on increase the number to 100 within 2-3 years.
The school is levying a charge of Rs 700 per month from each student will be set up at Bazpur, Gadarpur, Kashipur and Bahl Parav in Uttarakhand.
The company would invest around Rs 70 lakh per school and hopes to enroll nearly 700 students in each school. These schools will focus on providing affordable conventional education, using latest educational methods, aided by technology, as well as vocational training.
