Grasim Industries NP pegged at Rs 866.59 crore for June’09 quarter

Grasim Industries has posted a net profit of Rs 866.59 crore for the June 2009 quarter, while the net profit stood at Rs 514.19 crore for the June 2008 quarter. The company’s total income stood at Rs 3107.29 crore for the June 2009 quarter, whereas the figure stood at Rs 2674.57 crore for the June 2008 quarter.

The standalone results for the June 2009 quarter as not comparable due to sale of sponge iron unit effective from May 22, 2009. The corresponding quarter in previous year included sponge Iron unit results for full quarter.

On a consolidated basis, the Group has reported a net profit of Rs 1080.03 crore for the June 2009 quarter, whereas the same stood at Rs 671.89 crore for the June 2008 quarter. The Group’s total income is pegged at Rs 5179.41 crore for the June 2009 quarter, whereas the same stood at Rs 4515.86 crore in the same quarter previous year.

The consolidates results for the June 2009 quarter are not comparable as the results of Idea Cellular (Idea) were consolidated as a joint venture in first quarter of FY09, while with effect from January 1, 2009, Idea results are being consolidated as an associate.
