HCC announces new projects in western India

Mumbai-based infrastructure construction major Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) has announced new projects in western India. The projects comprise residential townships in Nashik, Pune and Thane in Maharashtra and at Dholera near Ahmedabad.

The company has drawn up a plan to infuse Rs 100-120 crore to begin the ground work for a proposed mini-township in Nashik HCC is in the process of acquiring land for the project while the actual work on the project is expected to begin in 12-15 months. The total project is pegged at Rs 600-800 crore.

The construction major is also considering setting up two mixed-use mini-townships on 200 acres each at Pune and Thane. While the Pune project will have a large portion reserved for commercial use, the Thane township would be mainly be a residential one. HCC has already initiated land acquisition for the two projects.

Earlier this year, HCC had inked a pact with the Gujarat government to develop a Water Front City at a total investment of Rs 40,000 crore. The project, to be based on Lavasa, would be developed on 4,000 acres of land in Dholera Special Investment Region located at the Gulf of Cambay nearly y130 kilometres from Ahmedabad.
