HUL reports 47% rise in Q4

FMCG major Hindustan Unilever (HUL) has announced its financial results for the quarter and year ended March 31, 2010.
The company has reported a net profit of Rs 581.20 crore for the March 2010 quarter against Rs 394.90 crore for the March 2009 quarter, up 47.17%. Its total income during the reporting quarter increased by 8.11% to Rs 4,408.65 crore from Rs 4,077.57 crore in the corresponding previous quarter.
The company has posted a net profit of Rs 2202.03 crore for the twelve months and accounting year ended March 31, 2010 as compared to Rs 2,496.46 crore for the fifteen months and accounting year ended March 31, 2009, down by 11.79%. The total income stood at Rs 17,873.44 crore for the twelve months and accounting year ended March 31, 2010 as compared to Rs 20,829.05 crore for the fifteen months and accounting year ended March 31, 2009, down by 14.18%.
HUL has also recommended a final dividend of Rs 3.50 for the financial year ended March 31, 2010 on equity shares of Rs 1 each.
The company has earlier paid an interim dividend of Rs 3 per share on November 23, 2009. The total dividend for the said period amounts to Rs 6.50 per equity share of face value of Rs 1 each. The final dividend, subject to the approval of shareholders, will be paid to the shareholders on or after July 30, 2010.
