ICICI Bank plans to setup 580 branches this year

ICICI Bank has planned to setup 580 branches this year. Once this happens, the bank will have 2,000 branches. However, the bank will not increase staff strength, as part of the current workforce would be redeployed to manage the expanded network of branches.

The bank’s managing director and CEO Chanda Kochhar mentioned that there would be re-skilling and re-training some people in accordance with the needs of the expanded branch network.

Earlier this month, Chanda Kochhar took over as ICICI Bank MD & CEO from her predecessor KV Kamath, who has become non-executive chairman.
