Dealing a severe blow to Ranbaxy Laboratories, US Food and Drug Administration’s (USFDA) probe has revealed that the drug major’s Paonta Sahib facility in Himachal Pradesh had falsified data and test results of medicines. This is the first serious charge by the US drug regulator against an Indian pharmaceutical company. The US drug regulator had stopped all new approvals from the facility and had banned sale of medicines produced from the facility in September 2008.
