Maytas Infra emerges as lowest bidder for Bhutan hydropower project

January 27, 2009 by admin

Maytas Infra has come out as a lowest bidder for the construction rights of Bhutan’s Dagachu Hydropower Plant. With this, the company might emerge as likely winner for the project.

HCC, Patel Engineering and Maytas were the competitors for the project. Gammon India, was disqualified as it did not meet the requirements mentioned in the tender floated in July 2008.

The construction of the project was scheduled to commence by February. However, it is likely to be delayed by two to three months.

The company might face some problems even after winning the contract as the norms of the tender mentions that bidder has to commit that it will not be involved in any form of corruption. Maytas Infra is promoted by the family of Satyam Computers’ founder B Ramalinga Raju.
