Orchid receives final USFDA nod for Sumatriptan tablets

Chennai-based Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals (Orchid) has received final approval from US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for Sumatriptan Succinate tablets.

These tablets will be marketed in strengths of 25 mg, 50 mg and 100 mg.

The company had received tentative approval from USFDA on May 11, 2009.

The drug is used for the treatment of migraine attacks, the company informed in its statement to the BSE.
