Ranbaxy shows willingness to supply anti-flu drug at a short notice

The Indian government is planning to add two million additional dosages of anti-flu drugs as a protective step to fight against any spread of swine flu in India. In response to this pharma major Ranbaxy has announced that it can supply generic version of anti-flu drug at a short notice.

Earlier this week Cipla has also announced that it can supply 1.5 million dosage of anti-flu drug in 4-6 weeks time period.

The Indian government has already procured one million dosages of the anti-flu drug at the rate of Rs 250 per strip which contains 10 tablets.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has termed swine flu as a ‘public health emergency of international concern’, which has affected countries like US, Mexico, Canada, New Zealand and Canada. The epidemic is yet to affect India.
