SBI officer’s to observe nationwide strike from October 20

The All India State Bank Officers’ Federation (AISBOF) has called for a nationwide indefinite strike with effect from October 20, 2008.

Officers working in State Bank of India’s (SBI) over 14,000 offices and about 80,000 associate bank offices will observe the one-day strike. The strike is aimed at resolving long awaiting issues of development in pension scheme and implementation of various understandings reached with the federation from 2005. The federation is also opposing the plan to amalgamate associate banks with SBI.
