Tulip Telecom jumps 10.31% on the BSE

Tulip Telecom has emerged as a top gainer on the BSE 500 index. The scrip is currently trading at Rs 863.25 per share, up 80.70 points or 10.31% on the BSE.
The stock opened at Rs 796.90 as compared to its previous close of Rs 782.55. During the day, the stock touched a high and a low of Rs 879.50 and Rs 791, respectively.
So far, 2,12,965 shares of the company were traded on the BSE.
The stock touched its 52-week high of Rs 1089.95 on September 22, 2008 and a 52-week low of Rs 258.05 on March 9, 2009.
The stock has gained 20.10% since the past one week and 26.68% since the last one month.
Recently, Tulip Telecom reported a net profit of Rs 105.73 crore for the March 2009 quarter as compared to Rs 66.26 crore for the March 2008 quarter. The company’s total income has increased from Rs 420.25 crore for the March 2008 quarter to Rs 519.52 crore for the March 2009 quarter.
