United Breweries rises as top gainer on BSE-FMCG index

United Breweries has emerged as a top gainer on the BSE- FMCG index. The scrip is currently trading at Rs 145.55 per share, up 5.40 points or 3.85% on BSE.

The stock opened at Rs 142.65 as compared to its previous close of Rs 140.15. Intraday, the counter touched a high and a low of Rs 150.50 and Rs 141.60, respectively.

So far, 26,924 shares of the company were traded on the BSE.

The stock touched its 52-week high of Rs 186.90 on August 11, 2008 and a 52-week low of Rs 67.75 on January 27, 2009.

The scrip has declined by 8.95% since the past one week but gained by 31.54% since the last one month.

The BSE- FMCG index was trading at 2,486.41, down by 68.11 points or 2.67%. The index opened at 2,581.84 as compared to its previous close of 2,554.52. It has touched a high and a low of 2,581.84 and 2,467.31, respectively.

Other major gainers on the index were Ruchi Soya Industries up 1.15%, Britannia Industries up 0.32% and Tata Tea up 0.15%.
