Vision Corporation advances on govt approval for three new channels

Vision Corporation is trading higher on the BSE after the company has received the permission from government to go on air for the three new channels viz, Vision TV Shiksha, Entertainment and Music after getting several approvals from various departments of the government.

The scrip is currently trading at Rs 7.12 per share, up 0.20 points or 2.89% on the BSE.

The stock opened at Rs 6.80 as compared to its previous close of Rs 6.92. Intraday, the counter touched a high and a low of Rs 7.25 and Rs 6.55, respectively.

So far, 95,177 shares of the company were traded on the BSE.

The stock touched its 52-week high of Rs 19.90 on August 18, 2008 and a 52-week low of Rs 3.51 on March 9, 2009.

The stock has gained 18.08% since the past one week and 38.52% since the last one month.

Vision Corporation has announced that the company has received the permission from government to go on air for the three new channels viz, Vision TV Shiksha, Entertainment and Music after getting several approvals from various departments of the government.

Vision TV Shiksha channel is based on education. There will be various informative programs aired on this channel to inform and elevate the general masses. Vision TV Entertainment will be a total entertainment channel on which movies and serials will be telecasted and Vision TV Music will be based on music and entertainment, for which the company’s owned music, is more than 1000 albums of Bollywood as well as various audio / video albums, as indicated in its filing with the BSE. The company plans to launch Vision TV Music channel first, as the contents for this channel are readily available with the company as it has its own music company and has planned programs which will grow the TRP of the channel.

Apart from this, the company has already planned certain concepts to be shown on Vision TV Shiksha channel and is also preparing for more knowledgeable concepts to educate the society in all areas.

It has produced and owns the rights of more than 200 movies and also has the satellite rights for more than 300 other movies, which will be useful in the launch of its entertainment channel. The company is also planning to produce some more movies by the end of this fiscal.
